The Château de la Motte is a family property located on the outskirts of Marcorignan village (the Aude department) that has been converted into a small tourist residence. The houses, of which there are ten, have been built into the walls of the old fortified farm buildings that are attached to the family home.
HOUSING Hidden away beneath the charm of the old stone and rambling ivy, the interiors are both modern and comfortable and have been decorated with taste.
Each house has a large living room with television having national and international Chanels in French (TV1, TV2, TV3, Arte, M6), in English (CNN, BBC, Eurosport) and in German (RTL, ZDF, Nick), Internet access (broadband, Wi-Fi) and an open kitchen (oven, cooking plates, dishwasher etc.). Five of the ten houses have two bedrooms (one with double bed, one with a two single beds) and the remaining five have three bedrooms (one with double bed, two with two single beds). A shared laundry room is at the disposition of our guests. The houses are terraced and yet completely independent, each one is doted with a private garden thereby isolating it from the neighbours. THE PARK The whole is integrated into a vast six acres grassy park planted for the most part with pines, oleander bushes and olive trees. A swimming pool (12m x 6m), that is situated to allow for full exposure to the sun throughout the day, completes the picture. You will also find in the park: swings, a volleyball court, a basketball net, a table-tennis, a table football and you can lean playing the Southern French game pétanque. This park is particulary well adapted for kids in every age. The security and large green spaces have been the basis of its conception.
"L'ACCUEIL" - the reception We are at the reception every day from 18h30 to 19h30 and the Saturday from 16 to 19. We can provide you with information about cultural visits, sports activities and restaurants or serve you an aperitif. THE DOMAIN The domain is extremely vast (50 ha) and is perfect for walks and cycle riding. There is 3 ha of park, 20 ha of pinetrees, 15 ha of garrigue, 5 ha of olivethrees, 5 ha of cornfields and wineyards.
THE VILLAGE Marcorignan village is less than five-minute walk away. Here you can find the most essential amenities (grocer, baker, pharmacy etc.), pizzaria, take away restaurant and pub.
